Just because.
Transition from the old way to the new way, whether these changes be experienced in your inner or outer worlds, involves varying levels of discomfort.
It involves letting go. Releasing. Saying good bye.
It involves death.
It involves finding your way upon a path that you never envisioned yourself journeying upon.
Or maybe there were signs that this BIG change was coming.
Perhaps this BIG change is even something that you have consciously called into being.
Either way, it is here now + the enormity of it can take your breath away.
There is no going back to the way things were before.
Finality, as defined by the google dictionary, is the fact or impression of being an irreversible ending.
Finality can also be viewed as a continuum. (Did I just oxymoron?)
Finality taking on different meanings + qualities depending on the where you are on your journey in relation to that which you are saying goodbye to.
Finality at the beginning steps being experienced as the messenger of shock. Denial. Pain. Guilt. Anger.
Finality at the later steps being experienced as the door way to acceptance. Healing. Hope. New growth.
BIG change involves grief. Be that-
- death of a loved one
- relationship breakup or upheaval
- job loss or significant change
- financial fall out
- sudden or dramatic ill health
- deep, deep skeletons arising from the underworld of your psychological closet
- or even welcome change like the birth of a child that brings with it the death of your old independent way of life
If someone or something has died in your world, please be gentle with yourself.
Make space to grieve.
Find your place of safety while the new way is being born.
